Heritage education
This section gathers pedagogical materials – teaching kits, games, and stories – developed within the framework of the Chair through various projects and in collaboration with other entities and institutions. It also compiles other useful resources for heritage education and good educational practices related to heritage. Finally, it presents the training carried out by the Chair for the teaching staff in the region and the training it can offer in a recognized manner. Ultimately, it aims to be a space that helps work with heritage, especially that of the Pyrenees, from an educational perspective.
Pedagogical suitcases
Since its creation, the Chair has designed and developed different teaching resources in the form of kits, dedicated to formal education and focusing on the heritage of the Pyrenees. They consist of various activities framed within the curriculum of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and the First Cycle of Secondary Education, and allow the use of a methodology centred on gamification and project-based learning.
All suitcases can be found in the different resource centres (CRP) of the Pyrenees, and the teaching staff can use them freely.
The texts and graphics published in these materials are subject to a Creative Commons licence. The full licence can be consulted here.
This kit develops the contents of the Natural, Social, and Cultural Environment subject in primary education through an environmental look at the Pyrenees and all its inhabitants. The brown bear of the Pyrenees accompanies children in understanding their relationship with the environment, preparing them to develop critical thinking and sensitivity towards nature and, at the same time, to become educators of their parents.

The Fallaire suitcase aims to facilitate the knowledge, appreciation, and enjoyment of the Fire Festivals of the Solstices in the Pyrenees, their diversity, and the relationship with the different fields that surround them.
In addition to complementing the pedagogical actions carried out in the different villages and their fallaire associations, it becomes a tool that facilitates the transfer of natural, social, linguistic, and artistic knowledge.

The Animalades suitcase aims to bring schools closer to the territory, its natural environment, and especially its fauna. The materials designed take into account the key species such as the rabbit, wild boar, and roe deer, which are present throughout the Catalan landscape.
Working with these species helps students understand the relationship between people and the surrounding environment, as well as raise awareness about the nearby natural surroundings.

This suitcase focuses on the ancient profession and current celebration of the log drivers, present in the rivers of Noguera Pallaresa and Segre, as well as the various particularities surrounding it, whether natural, social, or cultural.
By recalling the old system of wood transport and with the accompaniment of the log drivers, it addresses topics linked to the curriculum of Environmental Knowledge and Mathematics. It is also a complement to the transmission work carried out by the associations of the carriers.
Games

Through the POCTEFA Prometheus Project, the Chair creates a virtual game that facilitates knowledge of the Solstice Fire Festivals in the Pyrenees, especially the different types of fallas from around the Pyrenees.
Collection of tales
In 2023, the Chair will launch a collection of stories focused on the heritage of the Pyrenees, which aims to highlight and raise awareness of the different assets of the mountain range. You can find the stories in libraries in the region and at the indicated points of sale.
Each of the fallaires villages experience the night of falles in a special and unique way. Teia, Joan and Dàlia will feel this year, for the first time, some of the shared emotions of this magical night. Accompany them through the pages of this story and discover them.
Good practices
The purpose of this space is to share experiences related to heritage among educational communiqués from all over the world, in order to generate similar initiatives or complement existing ones.
If as a teaching team, educational centre or association you have developed any educational practice that has heritage as a central theme, you can write to us at catedrapirineus@udl.cat and we will add it to the collection.
More resources
This space contains various resources that are useful for heritage education, both inside and outside the classroom. You will find documents, videos or open access links.
If as a teaching team, educational centre or association you have developed any educational practice that has heritage as a central theme, you can write to us at catedrapirineus@udl.cat and we will add it to the collection.
Teacher training
In order to promote greater and better use of the pedagogical kits created by the Chair, training courses are offered to the teaching team of the Pyrenees, either through an introductory session to the relevant kit or in a more extensive way, regulated and recognized by the Department of Education; always with the collaboration of pedagogical resource centres.
