The Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection began in the 1990s as a continuation of the ThyssenBornemisza Collection. It focuses primarily on 19th and 20th-century painting and has various centers located in Spain and Andorra.
In 2017, the Carmen Thyssen Museum of Andorra opened in the historic Hostal Valira building in the parish of Escaldes-Engordany.
The EduCarmenThyssen space offers complementary educational activities and workshops within the exhibition. The EduCarmenThyssen space is designed as a place to carry out workshops, debates, and other educational activities with technological tools that expand information and complement the educational visit.
Activities begin with a visit to the exhibition. Young visitors are provided with memory and observation tools and games to delve deeper into the works of art and their creators. Educational visits are designed for different educational levels and are led by specialized museum staff. The work is based on the exhibited artworks. The guided visits contribute to interaction and reflection.
The EduCarmenThyssen space offers activities that facilitate meaningful learning, going beyond the traditional guided visit where students are passive participants.
The Museum also has an interesting proposal of activities for children, young people, and adults with functional diversity, as well as a playful training project for the elderly.
