The Chair of Education and Intangible Heritage of the Pyrenees, made a presentation on the safeguarding of the Fallas festival
The Chair of Education and Intangible Heritage of the Pyrenees of the University of Lleida (UdL) participated this weekend in the IV International Symposium Festive fires in the Mediterranean in Andorra. During the day, Sofía Isus, director of the chair, and Marc Ballesté, project manager, gave a presentation on the Safeguarding of the Fallas festival.
Andorra hosted for the first time the International Symposium Festive Fires in the Mediterranean, on November 22, 23 and 24, which offered different lectures on the symbols and rituals of festive fire.
The Symposium, organized by the Andorran Society of Sciences, the Association of Fallaires of the Valleys of Andorra, the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Ramon Muntaner Institute, was structured in three areas: the safeguarding and recognition of the festivals of fire, the investigation of them and the presentation of entities, people and publications.
